The flock was asleep, Max included. We were at the “safe house” with Max’s mom, half sister Ella, and Jeb. I couldn’t sleep. Go figure the one time Max can I cant. So I just sat by the window, looking out into the night. Nothing interesting was happening, but I couldn’t say I was complaining. It was nice to get some down time.
